About Me


My name is Darren Whitehead, a married father of two, from the Bolton area of Greater Manchester (formerly Lancashire).


I have had a long career in public services, working with individuals from all walks of life, and I have genuine compassion for people, especially during their most difficult and testing times.


I enjoy public speaking and creative writing, particularly when the subject is heartfelt.


These skills allow me to design and deliver wonderful services, to help grieving families say their final goodbyes to their loved one.


I wholeheartedly recognise and appreciate the trust that families place in me when they ask me to be their celebrant. It is an honour.


There's only one chance to say a final farewell, and I am dedicated to creating meaningful, personalised and bespoke funeral services, and to ensure that we get this absolutely right.


I help families navigate their profound loss with compassion and support. My goal is to honour your loved one’s memory in a way that reflects their unique spirit.

Custom Funeral & Memorial Services

Every service is tailored to reflect the life and wishes of your loved one, providing a personal touch that resonates with family and friends.

Comprehensive Planning Support

I work closely with your chosen undertaker and venue to offer full support in helping to  plan and organise all aspects of the service.


If required, I will work with your undertaker (or printing supplier) to assist with the design of the order of service.

Unique Celebrations of Life

I work very closely with the family to ensure we bring out all character traits, even using humour if wanted and appropriate. 


My approach focuses on personalised elements that celebrate the uniqueness of the individual, creating a heartfelt tribute that is truly memorable.


Writing Tributes

I personally meet with families to understand their individual stories and relationships, to craft heartfelt tributes that eloquently express their love and memories.


I can also create bespoke and poignant poetry to suit the occasion, should the family wish.

Support & Guidance

Many people wish to read a verse or share memories at the service. This can be a stressful and difficult time.

I will be there to guide, support and help, and even step in should the need arise. I will be with you every step of the way.

Ongoing Communication

After the initial meeting with the family, I will keep in regular contact to ensure that the content of the service is accurate and contains everything that is needed.


I remain available for any questions, enquiries or support needed before, during, and after the service.


Interment of Ashes

After the service, some families wish to have a further gathering for the interment of ashes.

I can assist and deliver a heartfelt reading and some final words, should you require this.


Choice of Packages

Whilst the Complete Package will give you everything you need for a wonderful celebration of life, some people wish to enhance this to include additional services, such as a bespoke poem, a bespoke song or keepsakes for after the celebration.

I will never promote these additional packages as the Complete Package is more than enough to cover your needs.


If, however, you are interested in the additional packages, please feel free to ask.

Pricing

Whilst there are several pricing options available, I will never discuss options other than the Complete Celebration Package unless specifically asked. The Complete Celebration Package covers everything needed to provide a truly wonderful and worthy celebration of life. The additional services are simply available for anyone who may wish to have them.

Complete Celebration Package


£300

The Complete Celebration Package is all you need. This package gives you absolutely everything necessary to ensure a wonderful celebration of your loved one's life.

The package includes:


  • Initial meeting to discuss requirements and obtain a full picture of your loved one's life (this usually takes between 1 to 2 hours).
  • Further meeting if necessary.
  • Design of a complete service to ensure all aspects of your loved one's life and personality are covered.
  • Ongoing communication and check in with the family as the service is drafted.
  • Unlimited rewrites until the service meets all requirements (usually about 3 to 4 rewrites).
  • If required, assistance with the Order of Service (although this is often done by the chosen funeral director).
  • Ongoing liaison with the funeral director and crematorium (or place of service).
  • Ongoing liaison with the family to answer any questions or concerns.
  • Delivery of service on the day.

Celebration Plus
Package


£400

The Celebration Plus Package provides everything you need to ensure a wonderful celebration of your loved one's life, plus some extras.

The package includes everything in the Complete Celebration Package plus:


  • Unlimited meetings to clear up any queries or ambiguity.
  • Bespoke poem for your loved one to be read out as part of the service. This poem will be unique to your celebration and unique to your loved one.
  • Copy of the service on a scroll presented either immediately after or soon after the service.

Celebration Platinum Package


£500

The Celebration Platinum Package provides everything you need to ensure a wonderful celebration of your loved one's life, plus some unique extras.

The package includes everything in the Celebration Plus Package with the following additions:


  • Bespoke song in a style/tone of your choice (lyrics written bespoke to reflect the individual, whilst the music will rely on AI production). This song will be completely unique to your celebration and and will reflect your loved one beautifully. The song can form part of the service if required.
  • Copy of the song presented as a digital file.

Celebration Interment Service


£100

The Celebration Interment Service is an additional bolt on for any package.

This is for any family who also require a small service to assist with the interment of their loved one's ashes.


This is ordinarily a local service but can be expanded with additional mileage costs.
